After a fantastic, manic day for Trout n About last Sunday we had to get up bright and early on Monday morning to go up to the NEC for Moda. It was another very hot day but the air con in the halls was on and we had an awful lot to do! We were starting our buying for Spring/Summer 2019 as well as looking at bits and pieces for this Autumn/Winter.
Some of our suppliers we have now known for over 4 years, so going on to their stands has become almost a social occasion. We catch up on what has been going on in their lives as well as developments in the brand – new designers, new ranges etc.
My job is to try on hundreds of shoes as my feet are roughly sample size. Anything that is not supremely comfortable is OUT!
This show’s highlight was the Birkenstock stand where Sophie found a sample shoe in a 42! This is the 1st time she has ever tried a sample shoe on and she was thrilled!
It fits!! Cinderella – you WILL go to the ball! It even matches her linen shirt!
This is David helping us put together our Birkenstock collection for next summer. The range will include a couple of the rubber ones (as modelled by Sophie, above) that you can wear in the sea if it is rocky. We really wished we had had some when we went to the Isle of Wight in July!
So – a successful day at the NEC. Our next stint of buying will be in Italy in September – and then we have to wait 6 months to receive our orders!
Our Autumn/ Winter 18 stock will be arriving throughout September – don’t miss out!
